This book is definitely a set up. It ends in such a way that I will simply have to read the sequel, which is fine with me because I enjoyed Book One, and I'd like to continue with the series. Granted, the premise is somewhat similar to that of The Pagemaster, but again, I don't mind because I like the idea of classic literary characters coming to life. Yes, The Librarian contains an obvious lesson about standing up to bullies, but that, to my mind, is a message that more kids need to get, so again, I really don't mind. It does my cratchety old heart good to see the underdog stand and be counted!
